Just a short playthrough, no endings or spoilers. Very interesting experience to say the least :)

Playing this reminds me of a game I played months ago called Vanish. This game has that feel but honestly this was scarier with the ambiance and sudden noises and scares. I tried to play it longer, but I was too scared. This game is really well done. Definitely have to come back to this.

I played TRAPT about a year ago on my channel, but I didn't know you made this game as well until I got into the game. Right as I realized you made this, I knew I was in for a ride. This game scared the bujeezus out of me several times, just like TRAPT did.

This game really has that terrifying vibe down that holds on to you from start to finish! The VHS style really adds to the vibe, the graphics are great, the sounddesign is very well done and the crawlers are terrifying! Overall a really well made game!

Markiplier? Nah but you hella sound like him lmao

Great game buddy, those monsters were scary as hell...The jump sacares got me lol.

I could never find the key but had a lot of fun playing it tbh.

Thank you for making this game.

My first contribution to Azaxor's pretty much legendary game development work! I didn't include any critique in my video; it is the original gameplay and commentary, edited to enhance the comedic elements of the session.  Game critique is included below.

My critique or review of this game is unsurprisingly the same as the majority of other people who've played this game for any amount of time: overwhelmingly positive

Only complaints I have are the generic loud jumpscare noises accompanied by the quick visual flashes (but that is a staple of horror making that complaint more of a personal gripe) and that there are no effects or audio cues when the sewer creatures are attacking the player, probably making the entire ordeal more comical than it should be.

Thanks for reading (and/or watching) *:・゚✧

Wow this game is good but difficult! I honestly didn't think to much of the monsters at first but I had some of my worst jump scares here. I'd love to see a checkpoint system included but otherwise it was a great experience and game!

I kept dying, I feel bad.  But had fun! <3

HILARIOUS GAME! Wondefull atmosphere! Keep up the good work!:)

well I failed at this 😂 😂 😂 gonna go stand in a corner now

Gollum?

This game was awesome! I struggled with it a lot but it was so satisfying to finally beat it! I like the style and everything tho, good job dev!

1st Game I played. Got me on edge

This was a fun game! I managed to escape but got the bad ending. Darn. I had fun playing this game but there were a few things that detracts the experience. I do wish once you get the second floor or section you get a checkpoint. The tunnels could use a bit more landmarks or some visual cue that helps map out the tunnels. Sometimes the monster doesn't make noise when I am up close which feels off. Lastly, the light is a bit too short, maybe add night vision to spot the monster and snakes easier. You can add a battery mechanic for the night vision. However, the claustrophobic feel of the tunnels was great. The monster design is very creepy and interesting. Overall, great job! Hope to see more unique games from you guys.

Your game is the second one in the video.

So I play quite a bit of horror games and this one is okay. It's well made, sound design is good and controls feel nice. However, the ,,scary parts" are bad. Jump scares don't work, they only scare you with unbearable loud noises. It's good to have loud noises to scare people but they really start to annoy. The monsters also bother quite much, they don't let you do anything and they kill the drive to play the game. I don't want to offend you, I want you to take some things into consideration. It's only my opinion, I'm gonna look at your other games.

While I wasn't able to escape, this is another quality game from Azaxor. You really are making a name for yourself as a VHS styled horror dev. Atmosphere was spot on and I even got jumpscared twice by the same jumpscare. I'd only ask you give the camera a flashlight.

Here's my channel for other games I have played. http://www.youtube.com/c/Levont

Thanks for playing and thanks for your feedback! I got a couple more free short VHS title's coming to Itch besides my main project Catacombia on Steam so stay tuned for more! https://store.steampowered.com/app/1469390/CATACOMBIA/

Cheers!

This is one of the most immersive horror games I've ever played. It's also incredibly stressful LOL. The stress of trying to figure out what to do in this nightmare of a place with all those terrifying monsters roaming around made for an incredible horror experience. I managed to get both endings, and when it was all said and done, I could safely say I really enjoyed this game!

Nice playthrough and thanks so much for playing and for your valueable feedback! I agree the dead rats used as bait could be tweaked to be more effective and I will definately think about checkpoints in the future, usually my short VHS titles are not so long so usually don't have this but might be a good idea in some of em! Anyway thanks! BTW my main title Catacombia is on Steam wish-list if you haven't already!https://store.steampowered.com/app/1469390/CATACOMBIA/

I always enjoy a good found footage game, and I thought that this one was pretty solid. I liked that there was multiple monsters and not just a singular entity chasing you all the time (although I can't believe what actually ended up killing me on my final run). While it was easy to get lost in the tunnels, it was designed well enough for me to locate "land marks" and find my way through them. My only gripe was that I was having stuttering issues on the Ultra settings, but turning it down to high fixed this (and for some reason made the game look even spookier). Overall, this was a pretty good horror game.

Thanks for playing and for your feedback! I like how you investigated the area and took note of the "land marks". I could maybe have added a bit more different color lights or small hints to guide the player but regardless, thanks for playing enjoyed watching!

Your games are freaky as hell, man. I always know it will make me jump, haha. Nice job on this! I wasn't sure if I was gonna be able to beat it but finally managed to get both endings. Thanks for the scares!

Good game I download play

this is my full reaction and review of a sorts this game has potential but the animations are bad witch is sad because all the other stuff seems promising i didn't make it very far tho sadly but this game does have potential it just gets over shadowed by the bad animations really cool style with the vhs thing and it has more mechanics than you would think over all 6/10 for potentially being very scary

if you watched my video i appreciate it

Well the game is not easy and requires some effort. Watched your playthrough but the annoying background audio you added really made it hard to watch. What animations in specific? you only zoomed in on the one rat in the beginning playing a idle loop anim? About the no flashlight included, not every horror game needs to have one, you are supposed to memorize the environmental details and listen to the audio etc to find your way through the game.

I think you need to take your time with the game. But yeah anyway thanks for your feedback and for playing!

Didn't play to much of it but I liked it thought it was really creepy with the old vhs video camera exploring a sewer but as soon as that thing started chasing you it  kinda ruined it for me.

Thanks for playing and for your feedback, which one? There are 3 main enemies in the game 2 different Crawler creatures roaming around and a huge snake in the flooded section plus environmental dangers and a special crawler in the bad ending.

Thanks for playing The Dark Pursuer!

Thanks for playing Alpha Beta Gamer! ( Both Endings )

Thanks for playing Nokzen!

I must say, this is a really scary and intense game, almost to intense to actually complete. My god it is scary. The atmosphere is so dark, quiet and crowded, and it makes it so unsettling. At so many points you just want to give up and stay hidden, but doing so may but you in even more danger! And the sound effects! My god! You can hardly make out where it comes from, but you damn well know it is coming for you! The art-style, mechanics, audio and overall gameplay is fantastic and so polished!

It is however somewhat hard to complete as there is no save- or checkpoint system, which means death results in you having to start over. I was lucky to make it through in my first try, but when I replayed for the second ending, I had to try several times. The problem is that it seems to be impossible to escape the monsters as soon as they spot you. I did escape the water-monster once by throwing a rat at it, but that did not seem to work any of the other times I attempted it. I assume the rats are for distracting it, but you can not throw them very far, so they do not seems to be of great use.

Despite these minor issues I managed to immerse myself and complete both endings, so this game gets a clear rating of 5/5! Keep up the great work!

Thanks for all the great comments and feedback very helpful and I will definately check out your playthrough!

Is there an ending to this? I've tried about 10 times and I keep getting to the lower area after getting the 2 keys and a giant snake kills me every time I try to progress...

(+1)

There are two endings. Try listen to the water movement sound of the snake ( you can hear it clearly when standing still ) the audio is 3D directional so you can hear where the snake is, also rats can be used to distract it. The snake also patrols in the same pattern. Thanks!

Figured it out. I must say, that was a true test of my mental fortitude LMAO. A lot of trial and error, but I managed to get both endings! I'll be posting my playthrough soon! Thanks for the tips!!

Haha. Thanks for pushing through, It is definitely not the easiest game and with very little hand holding if any, plus a disorienting design by choice.  Might do some little tweaks to make rats more useful or such in a little future update. Thanks for feedback and for playing, look forward to your playthrough!
