S T O R Y
Dead Faces is a psychological horror about hallucinations and facing your past taking you through a journey inside the collapsing mind of Jack Hallow. His rotting apartment is your hub, a place infected by dark tendrils that seal mirrors and twists reality.
Each mirror pulls you into a memory chapter, a nightmare shaped by a person from Jack’s past. Between chapters, the dark realm engulfs you, a mind palace ocean where Jack’s guilt forms floating memory spheres. Destroying a sphere shatters part of the corruption, reshaping the apartment and revealing the next memory and location he must confront, such as his childhood home and the hospital where his father Arthur passed away.
Piece by piece, the truth behind Jack’s family and what he did is revealed. In Dead Faces, remembering is either the key to redemption, or the final step towards madness. Unravel Jack's disturbing mind, the faces from his past and the truth behind his actions. You must remember their faces.

- Five Selectable Chapters: Access each chapter through mirrors in Jack’s decaying apartment, each focused on a person from his past and a different location tied to his memories. Uncover the truth behind his fractured mind in a 4–5 hour journey through psychological madness and hallucinations.
- Randomized Dynamic Hallucination System: Experience unpredictable scares as objects morph, spaces distort, and reality bends differently with every playthrough.
- Atmospheric Realism: Explore realistic atmospheric nightmarish locations from Jack's memories.
- Evolving Apartment Hub: Revisit Jack's everchanging apartment after each chapter as it further decays and twists reality.
- Randomized Audio Pooling System: The game never sounds the same and chooses from a large pool of audio randomly to keep the player paranoid throughout.
- Non-Linear Storytelling: A psychological descent told through visual storytelling, dynamic events, and surreal progression instead of traditional objectives.
- Themes: Themes of Depression, Hallucinations, Suicide, Isolation and a moody nightmarish atmosphere throughout the entire game.
To optimize: Try reduce texture quality, fog quality, FPS cap and shadow distance and make sure to not have any heavy programs running while playing the game. Customize your experience: Turn off Vignette in settings in game to play without distortion, adjust other settings to tailor gameplay to your preference.

Thank you for your support and for playing the demo. Just updated to v1.2.1. Great playthrough, the story will be unfolded in the full version and the pieces of Jack's mind and his family will be revealed as it all comes together in one psychological terrifying and highly atmospheric culmination. Thank you, release date is to be announced but the full game is coming to Steam in Late May / Early June.

looked very realistic i thought i was actually in vr at some points wish there was a bit more to it without having to buy the full game but its cool nonetheless.

The demo is much longer then what you played so there is a lot more to it, Dead Faces is a game that rewards careful exploration in your video you were rushing a lot, you missed a puzzle on the wall in Amanda's room at 19:03 right in front of you in your video, which is needed for progressing.
Amazing demo! Visuals look crazy good and the whole setting gives you a claustrophobic feeling. I also liked the VA, the voices fit quite well. No problem throughout the game, although it was a bit too tanky to run at 2k resolution in my case, so I switched to 1080p instead.

how do i reduce motion blur, im trying to enjoy the game but the blur is hurting my eyes :(
The game does not use motion blur. If you mean the vignette that can be turned off in the settings.

This was SO creepy! The atmosphere was awesome, and I'm thoroughly confused as to what's going on honestly, but I'm super eager to see what the full stories are when this comes out entirely! The sense of dread and tension is really well built in my opinion, and most of the scares got me GOOD. A few didn't quite get me (after a while, someone walking across the hallway didn't freak me out anymore) but there were always more scares that succeeded!
All this to say, I wishlisted this one SO FAST.

I really enjoyed the demo. The game looks great, plays smoothly, and the atmosphere is super creepy. The jumpscares got me a few times as well.

This Demo was amazing! Realistic tension and atmospheric beauty. Filled with puzzles and eerie feeling that something/someone is lurking. Full game is going to be immense and I cannot wait. See my playthrough here:

Another awesome entry! I'm very curious to see how the full game is going to be. The environment is creepy and keeps me try to be aware of whatever is about to happen.

The game is really fun, excellent atmosphere, intriguing plot but I will say that
the level design/cues need improvement, it's easy to get lost and not know if you're on the right track to progress, and whenever something's going to happen, they take too long to happen. Also certain areas need more lighting but other than that I'm excited for the FULL RELEASE! Thanks for the demo

You did a great job, it was a really nice demo. But it would have been better without the spider. Uncle Arthur should clean the house a little. :D
Arthur Hallow is actually our main protagonist Jack Hallow's father :) Not his uncle! What spider? There is only one area with spiders roaming around a light source. Oh the apartment will get even more nasty after each chapter completion :) Thanks for playing glad you enjoyed the demo!

Amei o jogo! 👏 A ambientação está simplesmente perfeita — tensa, sombria e extremamente imersiva. A história me prendeu do início ao fim, e a tensão vai crescendo de forma muito natural, o que deixa a experiência ainda mais angustiante e envolvente.
Alguns pontos que poderiam melhorar a jogabilidade: achei o jogo um pouco escuro em certos momentos (dificultando a navegação) e as legendas, embora bem escritas, estão muito pequenas e passam rápido demais, dificultou um pouco pra eu entender melhor o que tava rolando.
De resto, está excelente! Um prólogo muito promissor e cheio de potencial. Ansiosa pelo lançamento completo — parabéns pelo trabalho incrível! 🙌
