Forgotten School / 忘れられた学校 is a short atmospheric Japanese VHS aesthetic horror game with a deeper meaning.
Average playtime around 10-15 minutes depending on how much you explore the game world with the camera to uncover secrets, the game was made in a week.
Best played in resolution 1920x1080.
The game plays as a walking simulator, but you do have a unique camera mechanic.
Story: Japanese school girl Akiyo shows up at her school in the morning, but it would seem that everyone is gone. Through her video camera she always keeps on her, she discovers a hidden dimension unseen to the naked eye.
Controls:
WASD = Movement
Left Shift = Run
E = Look through camera
R = Pickup & Use battery

I dunno how I feel about this game. The message is great and I appreciate it 100% but at the same time the game is kind of rough all around
We hit some bugs, some very weird monster interactions, sound design all over the place, and a lot of walking around
Like I said, I appreciate the message of the game but the actual story makes no sense and feels like it's off the deep end. Granted I was drinking so I could be full of shit but it sort of just ends and we're just confused

The message in this hits. Not only does this game do a pretty solid take on the consequences behind bullying and what it does to an individual but, it also delivers well with the atmosphere, visuals, environment, and the overall creepiness the tone sets for the game.
Again, at the of end the game gives a moral lesson and reminds its players to do good to others and to treat them with respect as it can end having negative effects which leads to the events we've seen. I like it, I like it a lot, especially from someone who's dealt with that, it's nice to see it be talked about.

I can't lie this game although short has sent a cold breath down my spine it really gave me the creepy feeling like I'm being watched and it also makes me never want to look through a camcorder again.
The bad: it's too short. The good: I loved the desolate, empty atmosphere of the school. The camcorder mechanic was nice, gives us a new way to look at our surroundings. The music was surprisingly catchy. In an earlier comment you mentioned the game could be longer depending on how much we explore, but I think it's only natural to follow the objective markers when playing a "walking simulator". I know this is one of your earlier games and you've grown waaayyy past it at this point but I'm still enjoying playing through these old games of yours that I must have missed the first time. You do amazing work!

7/10 the game was fun to play, i just wish it was longer, i had to play 2 times since i felt like there could be more, after i used the camera i was amazed.

Its The Third Gamei just found out this rlly cool game, i rlly luv the graphics and stuff and the cute bgm!!
i feel like there’s a deeper lore for it but can’t put my finger on mhm…
so i hav 2 few theories:
1. the main character is being bullied aaand committed suicide and the scl environment is fairly toxic
2. the main character is the bully and got someone killed mhm…
but i still feel like there’s smth more to it

All in all that was a really well done game and I had a lot of fun with it!! ^-^Really enjoyed the game - great mechanic with the camera. I absolutely love the moral to the game - Be Kind - that should be everybody's motto in life.
There was no battery use in the whole game, I can't remember the name of an old PS2 title that had the supernatural viewed through a camera, but it's a safe bet to leave the filter off when NOT using the camera since it makes more sense to keep the camera separate.
